During the braking phase of a rotation or during the descent phase in a lift, asynchronous electric motors behave like generators and give back energy instead of absorbing it. With motors controlled by an inverter, in order not to damage the inverter itself, this energy must be dissipated in real time and for this purpose a resistor called “braking resistor” is normally used, the characteristics of which vary according to the type of application and the type of inverter to which it is connected. PAE can supply the adequate resistors for all its inverters based on the power used.
